For over 30 years, Sharon has witnessed firsthand how horses can help people emotionally, mentally and physically. Whether experiencing a traumatic brain injury, speech impediment, PTSD, multiple sclerosis, autism, Down syndrome or any number of other disabilities, studies have shown that horses can offer many different types of healing for individuals facing the challenges of their disabilities, as well as for their caregiver(s) and support teams. Horses can do so, because their movement and unique walking gait most closely resemble that of a human. When a person is riding a horse, the rhythm and motion are therapeutic, as the body gains strength through its adjustment to the horse's gait. Please join us to hear Sharon share more about the beauty of equine assisted services through both the science of it and real life stories.
